With the help of the City of Ottawa, we set out to test a tool that strives to expedite the adoption of waste management models based on a Circular Economy framework.

Challenge

Identify unclear aspects of the current version of the tool and surface opportunities for future iterations.

Answer the research question: To what extent can the DBC tool assist professionals to navigate behavioral challenges in a Circular Economy framework?

Approach

Our qualitative approach pivots on SME interviews, unraveled around a case study built on secondary research. Selected methods:

- Semi-Structured, In-Depth SME's Interviews.

- Generated personas and a case study from secondary research.

- Surveys.

- Snowball sampling.

Findings highlight the opportunity for a tool that leverages users' agency and fosters evidence-based strategies.
